São Patrício é um dos padroeiros da Irlanda, e em razão da inúmera quantidade de imigrantes irlandeses nos EUA, essa data faz parte das comemorações no país. As pessoas vestem-se de trajes verdes e saem por uma longa caminhada de comemoração.

Nesse dia, as pessoas aproveitam para contar algumas mentiras e com isso enganar suas famílias e amigos.

Assim como no Brasil, o Dia das Mães é comemorado no segundo domingo de maio. As crianças geralmente servem café da manhã na cama das mães e lhes dão presentes.

3rd Sunday, Father’s Day – Terceiro domingo, Dia dos Pais.
Essa celebração foi proposta por Louise Smart Dodd, uma cidadã de Washington que queria homenagear seu pai, um veterano da guerra civil, que após ficar viúvo criou seus seis filhos sozinhos. Apesar da aceitabilidade da ideia da celebração, a data só foi oficializada em 1972, pelo presidente Richard Nixon.

4th Independence Day – Dia da Independência
Os americanos celebram essa data desde 1776. Durante esse dia há desfiles e muitos cidadãos aproveitam para exibir seu patriotismo, vestindo roupas com detalhes da bandeira.

10. Boozehound - Representa uma pessoa que bebe excessivamente. (This man is a boozehound! = Esse cara é um "cachaceiro"!).
